Following the incredible success of the Nintendo Switch launch, which generated millions of views and resonated with fans worldwide, I was honored when Nintendo Japan reached out to collaborate again. Head of Creative, Kuratsune, invited me to create a film for the Nintendo Direct at E3 2017—a project that was important not just for the event but for how Nintendo wanted to connect with its audience that year.

The challenge was to craft something that spoke directly to core gamers while still staying true to Nintendo’s optimistic, inclusive spirit. The result was "You're On Fire," a fast-paced, fun, and grounded film designed to showcase the Switch in a bold new way. We leaned into high-energy moments—car games that felt thrilling and cinematic, a grouded boxing ring scene for ARMS, and immersive arenas that were vibrant and full of life.

What made this project special was the trust Nintendo gave me to bring their vision to life. That hands-on approach brought a unique energy to the film and helped make it feel more real and connected to the players we were representing.

The feedback from fans was overwhelming. Many saw this as a defining moment for Nintendo Direct, where the brand expanded its reach and connected with a broader gaming audience. For me, it was an exciting, humbling experience to be part of something that brought so much joy and energy to fans around the world. Working with Nintendo is always a privilege, and this project remains a highlight.
