The success of this TVC relied entirely on its tone—capturing the quick insights and vibrant energy of a bustling kitchen. The camera work, lens choice, lighting, and staging were all planned to be simple and efficient, allowing us to adapt swiftly to the actors' performances.

Whenever possible, I set up the rough lighting to match the tone of what we will shoot on set. This fitting process not only helps with selecting wardrobe but also serves as a time to connect with the actors, experiment, and explore ideas.

Since the script is quite sparse, this is when we added the concept of the 'bad egg,' which introduced an element of visual drama—something I also mentioned in my director's treatment.

One of the most enjoyable parts of the process... Acting out blocking, discovering, and learning about spaces you’ve never been to, and with just a flick of a switch, dropping in your own LED light from a pocket, the entire tone changess.
